Manufacturers Description:
The Southerly 42RST is designed by Rob Humphreys office. She can be easily handled by two people and boasts an impressive sail plan with a tall fractional rig and self tacking jib giving excellent cruising performance. The cockpit has twin helm positions and generous locker space. Comfortable seating and a large central table give excellent crew bracing when sailing and a superb after sailing/outside dining area.
Below decks is a modern, sea going interior with three sleeping cabins. The raised saloon
giving panoramic views and the large galley is well placed for the ease of working at sea. The
owner’s cabin is one of the most spacious and well designed cabins to be found in a

The keel box is an integral part of the hull lay-up and sandwich construction stiffening runs the entire length of the hull topsides. All main bulkheads are bonded into the hull at main lay-up stage along with the stiffening grillage of transverse frames and longitudinal stringers. The engine bearers are also an integral part of the hull structure.

stainless steel bolts. The aerofoil Swing Keel is cast iron and incorporates a stainless steel
pivot at the leading edge. The Swing Keel is raised and lowered by a hydraulic ram powered
